The FTC has made online privacy one of its bigger missions as of late, going so far as to develop a full privacy framework that it hopes others will follow. Its counsel is extending to the mobile world with a new report full of recommendations for privacy inside apps, ads and mobile operating systems. Some of the advice includes decidedly common sense measures, such as asking for privacy permissions at a relevant moment or requiring clear disclosures as to what info leaves the device. Other tips require more exertion: the FTC would like to see dedicated privacy dashboards inside of apps, privacy policies that are visible directly from app stores and a simple Do Not Track option baked into both mobile browsers as well as ads.

If you can’t wait for the Blackberry Z10 to make its way to your country or carrier, then we guess the next best thing would be to get your hands on an unlocked model. Unfortunately for those in the US, the Z10 is not yet available, but the good news is that there are units available in the UK where the handset has been made available, and as well as in the hands of some lucky attendees who attend the Blackberry 10 launch. Now the bad news is that since supply is limited and demand is presumably high, early adopters can expect to pay through their nose if they hope to get their hands on the phone before everyone else. A quick search on eBay has yield some results for the Blackberry Z10 with some enterprising sellers who are auctioning the device off for over $1,000! Yikes!

It may have been a few days since we saw the last HTC M7 leak, however it looks like they haven’t stopped coming just yet. As of this morning we are being given another look at the exterior casing. This latest comes as pieces of the M7, as opposed to the complete picture we saw last week. That aside though, this casing does appear to match up with the previous leaks.

While we cannot call it confirmed just yet, it is beginning to seem clear that we are seeing what HTC will announce as the M7. Touching back on previous rumors and the last we

Going to be in the market for a new Direct Connect device soon, but the current offerings seem so... drab? Enter the Kyocera Torque, the latest Sprint smartphone featuring the network's CDMA-based Push-to-Talk service. The phone, which should be available sometime in early March, brings with it LTE connectivity, (mostly) stock Android 4.0, a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Plus processor, HD Voice, 4-inch WVGA display, 4GB internal storage and a 2,500mAh battery. As you'd come to expect on a Direct Connect device, it's also certified mil-spec 810G and IP67 and is water-resistant (it can be in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes). It's also the first on this side of the Pacific to utilize Kyocera's Smart Sonic Receiver tissue-conduction tech, a system that foregoes the traditional earpiece and transmits audio to your ear via vibration.
