Every company that rolls out smartphones ought to have flagship models that they can call their own, in order to be on par with the Joneses. Well, Pantech, one of the lesser known smartphone manufacturers from South Korea (after Samsung and LG, of course, considering how those two practically eclipse everyone else), does seem to have quite a beauty on their hands in the form of the Pantech Vega Iron which was spotted in the past, but here we are with actual photos of it (unofficial photos, of course).
Around this time last year, we reviewed at the original LG Lucid, which was designed to be an inexpensive basic smartphone. Now with the introduction of the new Lucid 2, we’re seeing a bump in specs, such as a larger qHD display, more advanced Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, and even a higher capacity battery......
It is safe to assume that this year, Apple will be releasing a new iPhone. Whether it will be a brand new iPhone 6, or if Apple will stick to the “S” theme and release a slightly improved iPhone 5S remains to be seen, but according to Brian White, an analyst from Topeka Capital Markets, he seems to think that the iPhone 5S will be launched this year with an interesting feature – a fingerprint scanner. This fingerprint scanner was previously rumored to be destined for the iPhone 5S. A later rumor suggested that this would not be the case and it would arrive on the iPhone 6 instead. We’re not sure what’s with the back and forth, but we guess we will need to see. Unsurprisingly White thinks that there will not be major changes made to the iPhone 5S.
There have been rumors of a low-cost iPhone making its way around the internet, and some believe that such a device will help Apple appeal to emerging markets where their competitors, such as Microsoft’s Windows Phone and Google’s Android, have the advantage with a wider range of affordable products. Whether such a device exists remains unknown, but according to Topeka Capital Markets’ analyst, Brian White, he believes that after speaking to suppliers and vendors, that Apple could be launching the alleged low-cost iPhone in July alongside the iPhone 5S.
Tagged as the first phone to offer the all-encompassing Facebook experience, the HTC First seems like the no-brainer device for hardcore Facebook users, but will it have enough uniqueness to call its own, so that it’s a compelling choice over other devices that are bound to also get treated to the new Facebook Home experience?......
Nokia seems to have nailed the ultra low-end of Windows Phones with the Lumia 520 on paper. Coming in a variety of jolly colors, it hits the sweet spot of price and productivity, employing a decent display, dual-core processor and a 5MP camera, all at rock bottom pricing. These are the dry specs, though, and it will certainly feel the Android...
Since the Samsung Galaxy S4 finally landed at our office several weeks ago, we've been having quite a lot of fun with it. First we gave it a full-blown review treatment and then we compared it to some of the smartphones it will be going toe to toe against. Yet we haven't taken an in-depth look at its camera capabilities, so that's what we'll be...
LG has been making some pretty good moves lately, first releasing the notable Optimus G, and more recently the Optimus G Pro – a powerful phablet device with a large 5.5" screen and the Snapdragon 600 processor. However, since LG simply markets the Optimus G Pro as its best smartphone right now, we're just going to go ahead ......

ZTE has officially announced the GEEK smartphone. The handset was introduced during the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing, China. The key bit of detail here, this marks the first ZTE handset with Intel’s new 32nm Atom processor Z2580. Otherwise, aside from a name that we are enjoying, the handset has some average specs. By that, we mean some of the specs are half of what we are seeing on other current flagships.
Just to begin with though, the ZTE GEEK has launched with a 5-inch 1280 x 720 display, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. See what we
A quick heads up for our friends in Canada -- Telus has just dropped word that its HTC One is now available for preorder, ahead of its scheduled April 19 availability. The Canadian Standard Contract -- ah, the ol' CSC -- brings the price down to a mere $149, but that's for a ridiculously long three-year contract. Purchased outright, the
It looks like we have another Pebble smartwatch related update. This one will likely come as a bit of good news or bad news depending on the color you originally picked when you backed the project on Kickstarter. You see, the folks at Pebble have announced that all of the black watches are ready for shipping. Well, specifically, Pebble has said they are currently “making their way through the fulfillment process.”
Basically, if you ordered a black Pebble and don’t yet have it — you should soon. On that note, I can say that I
Samsung's marketing machine kicks up a gear with new TV ad
